Christopher this year is getting a birthday gift years in the making! This October his birthday is extra special with a momentous event on the horizon. After years of attending lectures, classes, and grueling finals, he has finally achieved his goal. This year Christopher graduates after perfecting his amazing dissertation. His extensive research allowed him to create a phenomenal paper evaluating crucial aspects of the human brain.
Though his degree isn’t in teaching, he has the spirit of a teacher. He instructed me to wear medical grade gloves before pulling actual human brains out of the refrigerator in the brain lab for us to touch. He actually let me and my assistant hold the brains and interact with them before our session started! Did you know there is only about a 15 minute window after a person dies to preserve their brain before the opportunity is gone forever?
Christopher constantly reminds himself of the importance of his study by remembering that every brain he studies “used to be a person with good days and bad days”. He shows that he cares for each individual, whether alive or not, through his exhaustive research. It takes an amazing sort of individual to value each person’s life and show the utmost respect to the people who have passed on. Christopher brought a sort of reverence to the experience that honored the brains he studied.
Christopher you are such a dedicated and incredible person who has accomplished so much! Your enthusiasm for your work shows in each aspect of your life and will help you achieve so much in the future. Whatever obstacles may arise, you have already achieved what many of us can only dream. I have no doubt that graduation is only the beginning of a lifetime of learning and adventure!
