Emily is my cousin, so I was especially excited to be able to capture her bridals and first look before her wedding day. Growing up, we would always dream about weddings and talk about boys- and now we are both married to the men of our dreams!
Our aunt shared this story on her wedding day, but it still makes me chuckle to this day. When we were all little kids, we were playing outside, and the adults kept hearing the garage door open and close. They came out to see all of us riding the garage door- we would hold on to the lip of it, so when the automation lifted the door it would make us rise off the ground. The adults scolded us, but Emily wasn’t sad to get caught, she was just mad that she didn’t get to take her turn riding the garage door. I mean who can blame her, honestly I would still love to ride the garage door if it wouldn’t break it.
Emily has always been headstrong and beautiful. Her wedding dress was made with custom sleeves, her sister arranged all of the flowers, and her mother in-law styled her hair. She looked like an absolute queen. The ground was wet at Heritage Gardens, but it weighed Emily’s dress down and gave it a long pull that was so gorgeous. Everything about the session—the colors, the flower, and the overall look—was perfect for Emily and completely reflected her personality.
Emily, thank you for letting me be a part of this very important moment in your life. I am so grateful you found someone as wonderful as Rider to be your eternal companion. I love you both, and I feel so blessed that I could celebrate this day with the two of you together.
