Graduation Session

I am the oldest of 5 siblings, and recently the youngest of us, my baby brother Justin, graduated high school! When he was little, we all called him “Bear Cub” so much so that if you asked him what his name was he would tell you “Bear!” It is so wild to think that the little Bear Cub is now heading off to college and starting his adult life now.

His sense of humor is nothing short of legendary. I can’t count the number of times he’s left our family in stitches, brightening even the gloomiest of days. His quick wit and totally chill personality have always been a source of inspiration and endless entertainment. I’m in awe of his ability to effortlessly find the lighthearted joy in every situation.

The one story I’ll always remember about Justin is when our family was road tripping when he was young. We were all telling stories to entertain each other, but Justin was a little too young to come up with any stellar plot lines. He told a story about “There was a Mommy cow, and a Daddy cow, and they had a baby cow. And then there was another baby cow…”

This might not sound like a memorable story, but the hilarious part was he insisted on telling this “story” for probably an hour straight. Just talking about the different members of this cow family. We were all dying of laughter and begging him to please stop telling us about the cows, but he insisted on describing these cows for what felt like an eternity. He hasn’t lived that down to this day and my family still asks Justin to tell us about the cows whenever we see one.

Not only is my baby brother a bundle of laughter, but he is also remarkably kind-hearted. He possesses an innate empathy and compassion that extends to everyone he encounters. Whether it’s helping a friend through a tough time or reaching out to lend a hand to a stranger in need, he is the most amazingly solid person.

To Justin the Bear Cub, you have grown into an incredible individual, and I am blessed to witness your journey. As you embark on the next chapter of your life, I have no doubt that you will continue to shine brightly, leaving a positive impact on everyone you meet. Remember, the world is your oyster, and with your unique blend of humor, kindness, and charm, you are destined for greatness! I love you!
