Shianne and Ethan are the pinnacle of young love, they honestly sound like a story I would hear about in “vintage times”. The two of them are long-time high school sweethearts. (You can check out another set of high school sweethearts here!)
Ethan is in the military, and they knew soon he would called away, meaning that they wouldn’t be able to get married any time soon! There was no way they were going to let that happen. They decided to jump the gun and have a small ceremony to get married before he needed to be shipped off, and have the big party traditional “wedding” a few years down the road when they get back!
They couldn’t stand the idea of being separated so long. They decided nothing was going to stand in their way- they couldn’t be torn apart!
One of my favorite things about weddings is seeing families come together. Shianne’s mom was so sweet, and was brought to tears at the ceremony! And you can see the emotion in Dad’s eyes as he hugs his babies.
The ceremony was at a local church, and the reception was at the House of Hope next door! A friend of the couple is actually one of the founders of the House of Hope, which is a charity that takes care of kids who have had parents lost to suicide.
The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and gave off such a cute and homey feeling!
And of course these guys were gonna ruthless about the cake smashing! You could see the suspicion and hesitation in their eyes as they began feeding each other, and then the cake fight began!
Shianne, Ethan, it was such an honor to photograph your wedding. You took a chance on me and let me get the opportunity to capture your cute moments, and I cannot thank you enough! You two are the first wedding I ever photographed, and you will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish you a long and happy life together forever!
