Sarah and I became friends years and years ago when I lived in Texas. So when she decided to come up to Utah and visit her family, it was the perfect opportunity to trek on up to the mountains and take some beautiful photos. We woke up at the crack of dawn to get dressed and drive over to Tibble Fork Reservoir just in time to snag that gorgeous sunrise-light peeking up over the trees.
Sarah really wanted a place with mountains and pine trees. When she was young, her grandfather would take her on walks through the forest. She wanted to recreate some of those feelings and reminisce about that time spent with him. The tone changed when we went into the forest, and instead of the fun model-esque poses we had been doing, I tried to capture a child-like wonder I imagined she had felt many times on those walks.
Sarah, it was wonderful to see you again and to see how your amazing art has been going (seriously, she’s an amazing artist! Check out her stuff here!) I had so much fun in this gorgeous place with you, and I hope you can see how beautiful you are! Seeing you again reminded me of how much I missed our old friendship. I can’t wait to see you next time I’m in Texas!
