Mairi

Portrait Session

Mairi and I were driving in the car, jamming out to music on the way to her senior session. While driving to the park we were planning to shoot at, we passed a large, grassy area on the side of the freeway. It was perfect! It reflected the country vibe that Mairi was going for, complete with a lake, some reeds, and yellow grasses- just like Nebraska! So on a split-second decision, we pulled our car over and took some photos on the side of the freeway. The atmosphere was beautiful, the light was gorgeous, and Mairi was simply stunning.

Mairi is my cousin, and she is an absolute goddess. She plays the piano, has participated in show choir, and sings like an angel. Her whole family loves music, and every Christmas they gather around the piano to sing Christmas carols and Taylor Swift together. However I’m afraid to say that Mairi’s musical accomplishments are overshadowed by the fact that she is one of the funniest and chill people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know!

This session was for Mairi’s graduation photos, and although she was nervous at first because she felt self-conscious, there was no way to hide her true beauty and she shone from the inside out.
Mairi, thank you for your spontaneous attitude and for being willing to pull over and take pictures on the side of the freeway. You are such a fun and happy person to be around, and your radiance shines everywhere you go. I’m so glad we could celebrate your graduation together through these photos! I hope you can see yourself the way other see you- as a truly lovely person who’s a total babe!
