The 6 Best Places to Take Engagement Photos in Charlotte, NC
If you just got engaged, you’re probably brainstorming places you should go for your engagement session. You’re likely tired of the predictable and dull places that don’t lend themselves to lovely, artistic engagement photos. That’s why I put together this short list of some of my favorite places to take engagement photos around the Charlotte, North Carolina area. So that you can have a memorable and unique gallery of you and your fiancee, showing your fun and romantic side in the most flattering and personal way.
Best Waterfront Engagement Locations
Jetton Park in Cornelius
A gorgeous beach on the shores of Lake Norman with beautiful lighting. You get the pretty water in the background, but with lots of trees and nature around you. There’s lots of sand on the ”beach”, but unfortunately swimming in the lake isn’t allowed here!
Latta Nature Preserve in Huntersville
One of the most popular places to take engagement photos! I would say this has a very similar look to Jetton Park, but with more of a dense, foresty vibe. Anywhere with a lake is going to attract some mosquitos and bugs, so make sure you bring bug spray if you have your session here!
Best City View Locations
Marshall Park in Charlotte
City skyline? Check. Flowering bridge? Check. Lots of light and open space? You betcha. This is a gorgeous location for any session! The only downside to Marshall Park is the parking situation. Make sure you plan to get there early to find a spot!
Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte
If you live in Charlotte, you know Romare Bearden Park as one of the iconic places to take engagement photos. It’s one of those well-known parks right in the heart of uptown! If you can’t decide between a city theme or a nature theme for your engagement session, Romare Bearden Park might just deliver on both.
Best Nature Locations
Morrow Mountain in Albemarle
Breath taking mountain views without the hiking! It’s hard to get better than this. Morrow Mountain looks gorgeous in any season. You can drive right up to the lookout, but beware that cars may block some of the prettier views if you go during a busy time!
McGill Rose Garden in Charlotte
Serene winding pathways through little gardens of flowers and veggies… This is such a pretty and romantic place to take engagement photos! There’s also some rustic touches, like a train caboose and metal structures, so there’s something here for every style. If you’re wanting to shoot during golden hour, they only allow photo session on the first Monday of each month.
Now you know some of my favorite places to take engagement photos in the Charlotte area, you’re ready for the best engagement session ever!
