A few weeks before her big day, Amelia slipped into her wedding dress for the very first time at her venue, the gorgeous Alexander Homestead in Charlotte. There’s something so magical about bridal sessions. Getting to twirl, laugh, and soak in the moment without the hustle and bustle of the wedding day itself. For Amelia, it was the perfect chance to have a quiet, joy-filled moment in the place where she and Yan would soon say “I do.”

The grounds of Alexander Homestead were a dream backdrop for her portraits. From the gazebo nestled among the trees and the historic barn that glows with charm, every corner gave Amelia space to shine. The late summer sun peeked through the leaves, creating the prettiest golden glow that made her gown sparkle. It felt like the venue itself was celebrating with her!

The best part of the day was Amelia’s joy. She radiated excitement thinking about Yan finally seeing her in this dress after keeping it hidden for so long. She’s been so careful not to let him catch even a glimpse, and you could just feel the anticipation building in every photo we snapped. That mix of nerves and happiness is exactly what makes bridal sessions so special. It’s all the emotion of the wedding day, just bottled up into one radiant bride.

Her dress, from Bluebird Bridal, was stunning with its timeless lines and romantic detail. Amelia paired it with soft hair and makeup by Beautiful You by Deme, which gave her such a natural, elegant look. Seeing all the pieces come together, it was easy to imagine how breathtaking she’d look walking down the aisle. I especially loved how the look tied in with her wedding palette in her bouquet by Mint Hill Flower Market. Pops of red really defined their wedding day style.

The session wasn’t just about pretty portraits, though, it was also about comfort and confidence. By practicing at the venue ahead of time, Amelia got to move in her dress, see how the light played on the grounds, and feel at ease before the whirlwind of the wedding day. It gave us the chance to map out the best spots for portraits while also letting her soak in the beauty of her venue without distraction.
